Finding a trustworthy electrician in Central Portugal

In Portugal, electrical work is reserved for a qualified electrician (a TRIE — Técnico Responsável pela Instalação Elétrica). We do not carry out any electrical work ourselves, and we do not project-manage it. What we do: we put you in touch with a trustworthy, qualified local electrician and take the language barrier off your hands.

Many Dutch- and English-speaking clients get stuck finding a professional they trust who also handles the paperwork correctly. We know the region, translate where needed and make sure you understand what the electrician proposes — but the electrician does all the work and issues the certification themselves.

What we do

We are a referral and arrangement service, not an electrician. We help Dutch- and English-speaking clients in Central Portugal find a qualified, TRIE-qualified electrician and set up the first appointments.

  • Connecting you with a trustworthy, qualified local electrician
  • Bridging the language barrier between you and the electrician
  • Translating and liaising with the Câmara or EDP where needed
  • Explaining what the electrician proposes so you can make an informed choice

Important: the qualified electrician carries out all the electrical work and issues the certification (CERTIEL) themselves. We do not work on installations, switchboards, RCDs, sockets or wiring, and we do not direct the work.

Service area

From Fundão we arrange electricians in Covilhã, Castelo Branco, Belmonte, Penamacor, Idanha-a-Nova and Guarda. For destinations further out (Sertã, Sabugal, Oleiros) we can also connect you with a suitable professional nearby.

Portuguese regulations

For a new or substantially renewed electrical installation, Portugal requires inspection by a TRIE (Técnico Responsável pela Instalação Elétrica) and a dossier filed with CERTIEL. Without that paperwork, EDP will not connect — or will only connect provisionally. That is exactly why it matters that the work is done by a qualified electrician — the professional we find for you. The electrician handles the inspection and the CERTIEL dossier; we only help with translation and contact.

How it works

You tell us what you need. We connect you with a qualified electrician in your region and help with the first conversation so language is not an obstacle. The electrician visits, assesses the situation and gives you a quote directly. The electrician then does the work and delivers the certification documents. We stay available to translate or liaise with the Câmara or EDP whenever needed.

Frequently asked questions

Do you do the electrical work yourselves?
No. We do not carry out any electrical work, and we do not project-manage it. We put you in touch with a qualified, TRIE-qualified electrician and help with the language. The electrician does all the work and issues the certification themselves.
Why a qualified electrician?
In Portugal, electrical installation work is reserved for a qualified electrician (a TRIE). For a new or substantially renewed installation, a TRIE must inspect it and file it with CERTIEL before EDP will connect you definitively. That is why we make sure you end up with the right professional.
Can you also help with EDP or the Câmara?
Yes. We bridge the language barrier and can translate or liaise with the Câmara or EDP. The actual electrical work and the certification stay with the qualified electrician.
